Weird thing found on beach?

There was a long piece of drift wood with weird see through tentacles growing al over it, at the end of the tentacles are shells, with what looks like a crab or something living inside it, I have a photo if that makes it easier? Need to know what it is !
5 seconds after posting that, i realised it was goose barnacle, weird stuff!
