I brought my dog inside and she has a weird line of sticky stuff down her back. I started petting her and now the fur is coming off in chunks, and her skin is red and irritated. Any ideas as to what this is?
I would first call the vet, the call is free. But I would also wash the dog immediately, and check the yard afterward to see if it is any chemicals. I think if it was a chemical more would be happening then fur falling out but better safe then sorry. It might be sap from a tree and a bad reaction to it on the skin. Good luck
Sounds like she got into something like paint remover.Give her a bath,quickly. Call the vet if she starts to act differently.Use a gentle shampoo.Wear rubber gloves so you don't get it on yourself.
