i had a bad house-sitting experience at my aunts house recently with some crazy bad dreams as well....im not going back there again

I was house-sitting for a friend around Christmas time. Whenever I house-sit for her, I bring my sister along for company. Her house is very large. She also has 3 small dogs that bark at the drop of a hat. She lives in a nice neighborhood with an alarm system in her house. The doors all lock securely and I usually feel perfectly safe. I have watched my friend's house numerous times while she and her family have been on various vacations. This time should have been a piece of cake.

The first night my sister and I were sleeping in my friend's room. We watched some tv (just an episode of "Friends") before turning it off and drifting to sleep.

In my dream, I woke up from being asleep. I was in my friend's house and I just had a creepy feeling. I remember hearing a weird noise in my dream and seeing the porch light come on. No one chased me in the dream. I didn't even see anyone in the dream. I looked over (still dreaming) and my sister was sound asleep next to me. I was just incredibly creeped out. Then I woke up.

When I woke up I saw my friend's porch light come on. I immediately got the same creepy feeling I had in my dream. I looked next to me. My sister was sound asleep. I texted my fiance (a police officer) and he told me that everything was ok, he was patrolling in the area. I felt some better but didn't sleep a wink. I have no idea why I was so creeped out. I just felt (in my dream and when I woke up) that someone or something terrible was in that house. I can't explain how terrified I was.

My sis and I had to stay there for 5 more nights. I managed to sleep, but not in my friend's room...and with all of the lights ON...dumb, I know.

I have had the dream three more times since December...in my OWN house. It's crazy. I dream I wake up in my friends room with that creepy feeling. Then I wake up and feel so relieved I'm not in that house.

I'm not the kind of person that gets scared. I am very self-reliant and I have encountered many scarier real-life situations. So why does this bother me to this point? I'm feeling dumb lately because she asked me to house-sit last week and I said no because I'm too scared to stay there. What could this dream mean. And why would I have it even at my house???
Ha ha...the boogeyman :) That made me laugh :)
