Weird question about naming your children?

Our first born has 2 middle names. To follow suit, should we name our second with 2 middle names as well...or does it matter? Could something like that possibly cause friction...fighting and so on down the road if we only named #2 with 1 middle name?

What would you do?
Our son's middle names are from my father, and father in law.
If we had another son, or even a daughter...I'd only have 1 name from a family member that I'd like to use...

I don't know why I'm worrying yet though lol

Good question. I suppose you could do either. I doubt that any future child of yours would feel slighted if you only gave them 1 middle name.
I'm one of 3 children and I only have 1 middle name, same with my youngest brother. My younger brother who was the first boy has 2 middle names. We're Catholic so going along with Saint names... his 2 middle names are Francis Xavier (after the saint).

I never thought about it much. I don't think it's worth worrying about :)

I'm not sure it matters. I was always curious why people gave kids multiple middle names anyways..in theory middles names don't even matter.

It depends on your family. Our families tradition is 2 middle names and our children have just that (and for that matter their 1st and middle names are distant family names).

Hmmmm...... friction down the road. I highly doubt it.

My son has 1 middle name, its his fathers and grandpas middle name.

If I have a daughter someday, she is going to have two middle names, because my mother did, and I want my daughter to have those names as her middle name.

I say, unless you are really into that name matchy matchy thing (which i think is kinda tacky anyway) it doesn't really matter. If two middle names strike you for the next one as well, go for it, if not, go with one middle name. Either way, I doubt your children will be upset about it down the road.
