Weird period length is it normal?

So I'm on the BC pill, and have *not* had sex in over a month.

The pill usually works quite well for me, but this month it went weird.
I started my period about a week ago, last Monday (August 17th) I think it was. And I was experiencing horrible pains before that and during (I was not able to eat for several days)

I continued to finish my pack of pills (My pills went to the following saturday) and my period was "normal" by that Wednesday.
By Sunday I thought it was gone, but it was brown stuff which I thought was just the end of it. But it came back.

Now it's Friday night, still not gone. It's not heavy or anything, but I do have to wear a tampon.

Why is it being so weird?
I'm not excessively skinny.

I've been using this pill for nearly 3 years now with nothing like this ever happening, and I did take them all on time.

The pain was rather hard to decipher, it was really an "all over" the abdominal area.
Gone now.

Period lengths can vary all the time, even if you are on the pill. Continue with the pack you are on but go see a Dr. You may need to get on a different pill with different levels of estrogen to regulate your period. You should not have to suffer spotting in between periods, there are a lot of pill choices out there and they can find one to suit your needs. I feel your pain, it will get regulated eventually, hang in there!
