I'm 28wks and 5 days pg and I only get sick if I eat after the sun sets. No matter what I eat, I get this painful pressure that leads to lots of vomiting and sometimes loose bowels. The pain starts in my upper back and it feels as if there is a large band squeezing the breath from me. It only happens at night and it began at 14 weeks. Does anyone else know what it could be? I asked several docs, with not a clue between them. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel so wierd and secluded.
P.S. I do take maximum strength Gas X, but it doesn't seem to help. Neither does Tums or Rolaids. Burping and passing gas only helps for a moment until the episodes are over.

I had this feeling "after" this birth of my first son, and it was due to my gall bladder. Ask your doctor if it could be due to gall bladder irritaion. If so, he'll more than likely put you on a "no grease" diet until the baby is born so they can further take care of it.

Good Luck!

Sounds like a gas bubble. Try belching or ask a Dr. what kind of anti-gas you can take when pregnant. You could try peppermint tea but ask Dr. first.

That is weird. I would say you may be experiencing "night sickness" where your stomach is extra sensitive to the pregnancy hormones which makes you sick at night, or it could be acid reflux, heartburn or your gallbladder. Gallbladder problems, heartburn and acid reflux can occur during pregnancy. Gallbladder problems are fairly common during or after pregnancy because pregnancy hormones can cause it to malfunction. I'm having mine removed in 15 days due to severe and frequent nausea along with pain that goes from my back around to my belly area. I would suggest looking up heartburn and acid reflux (GERD) and see what you think of the symptoms. If you believe you have one of those three things, call your doctor and see about treatment, If its heartburn or acid reflux, she can probably put you on something to help with the stomach acid and give you prescription strength anti-nausea meds. If its your gallbladder, your doctor can have some tests run to see how your gallbladder is functioning and if its not functioning well, they can remove it during or after your pregnancy. I would think that its acid reflux or heartburn though because with a gallbladder it probably wouldn't only be at night time. Heartburn and acid reflux often times can flare up at night which makes sense with your symptoms. Common symptoms of acid reflux or heartburn is pain in the chest, throat and back. It can be sharp or an ache. You can also have indigestion, nausea, vomiting, feel tightness in your chest or have acid coming up into your throat. I have 2 kids and I got a hiatal hernia after having my second baby and you can develop GERD from those very commonly. There are many tests your doctor could be running for you so get on top of things and put yuor doctor to work. Its their job!
