I am a 13 year old female and i had a soccer camp 2 weeks ago where all we did was run. On the last day of camp, we were running a 3 mile and i was trying really hard to beat my old time and i think i overworked myself because that night i couldn't walk. So for the next 5 days i rested, iced, elevated my knee, and took ibyprophen thinking it would slowly heal, but it didn't. Infact, it got so bad that i had to wear like a gazillion casts and use my moms old crutches if i wanted to do anything.. I decided it was time to see a doctor, luckily my friends dad is an osteopath (bone doctor) and he told me that i had a serious injury in my left knee even though it was my right knee that hurt, and that my right knee was in great shape. The weirder thing was that he said my injury in my left knee was 6 years old, which makes no sense because i would have been in kindergarden or first grade and i didn't remember getting "seriously injured" at all when i was that young. But he worked for about an hour on my left leg and he said he fixed it about 80% and that i could play in my 3 soccer games on the weekend. I was so happy because my knees felt a lot better and one of the games i would be playing was very important, but the next day i tried jogging and i couldn't, it hurt really bad right under my kneecap. I was really sad i couldn't play in the games. Now it has been a week since then and i can walk fine, and i biked a couple miles yesterday-- no problem, it's just running that really hurts... I really don't want to miss any more games or practices because my coach says he needs me to play, but i also don't want to start running too soon and hurt it even more.. What could possibly be happening in my knee causing me to bike fine, but running hurts so bad? and also what can i do so that it will heal quickly so i can play soccer again- i really miss it ): plz no mean or rude comments, sry this is a really long story.
