Hi,

I had a very strange thing happen at work yesterday. It was getting close to lunchtime and I was feeling hungry, when all of a sudden I came over all faint and dizzy and feeling like I was going to be sick. I went to the bathroom just in case, but nothing happened. Thinking it was probably because I needed to eat, as I often feel a little shaky if I haven't eaten, I had my lunch, but I couldn't shake this feeling of faintness and I was sent home for the day.

This has never happened before, but some factors in my life have changed recently and I wondered if they might be the cause? I never used to get much exercise other than walking to work and back. I moved last month and now cycle 4.5miles there and back again every day (I can't drive). I wondered if this sudden increase in activity could mean I need to eat more, and therefore my dizzy spell was caused by not having eaten enough?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

have your thyroid checked out. It sounds like a possibly thyroid issue.
It could also be that your blood pressure dropped suddenly -- that will cause dizziness

Are you taking any kind of medication even OTC products for allergies or cold?
some of them if taken on an empty stomach could do it.

But I doubt if it was because you were hungry unless the last time you had any food or drink was the night before.
