Does anyone else (who has HD that is) find it a little weird that Bell TV has their XXX mano a mano hardcore porno channels directly below the start of the HD channels ? Its not the end of the world, but think the porn should be in a number range that isn't right beside popular channel numbers, so as to prevent telling your 4 year old what *********** is....
A friend was over, and grabbed the remote to surf, and asked what channel the HD's started at...I told him 800. He asked what channels I subscribed to, and I told him that I have it set up to only display subscribed channels. He hit 800, and then burst out laughing, and asked how much it costs a month for the gay porn. I was like huh? I never really thought about it, but I'm wondering if there is a way to filter out the PPV/Porn without adding EVERY channel to a favorite list?

Or set your up a favourites list that deliberately leaves out the porn services.

However I kind of agree with you about the positioning of porn next to HD. As HD becomes more popular I would Bell would move the HD channels down the "dial" and move SD duplicates (SD channels showing the same thing as HD to the high numbers).

I wish it was that simple... Maybe there is something wrong with my receiver? I already tried that, and just tried it again, but go to channel 800, and right below F**k Fever All Male is on...... I also tried to lock certain channels, and then hide locked, but they still appear in the guide... Its not the end of the world, but I think the location of porno channels should be away from channels that children may stumble onto. Would it be crazy to locate them up in the same range as the radio stations or down in the 0-100 range?

Go into you Lock menu. Pick "2" Channel Locks. Go through the channels and select the channels you do not wish to see. Exit saving the changes. Pick the "8" Hide Locked menu.

Now those channels you have selected will not be able to be seen in any menu guide menu.

No matter where BT will locate them there always will be a chance that kids can find them . The safest way is to hide and lock them , but if you can not do that then there must be something wrong with your receiver. Call BELL maybe they can fix it.

The point is, why not locate them on channels numbers that have a less chance of being seen EVERY time you go to the HD channels? Its not a major issue, but seems like a weird location(hey, maybe some people like their all-male porn right next to HD channels?). I've tried every suggestion to block the channels, with no success, and don't really want to waste time on the phone for what now, is a trivial matter...

If it is trivial the why did you bring it up in the first place

If what I posted did not work than there is something for sure with your receiver, not that it matters anyways...

Because "skin tones" are an "impulse" buy. The more often people run "into them", the more sales they make.

Kinda "hard" to discuss this without unintended puns :D

I use the "lock" and "hide" to remove all promo channels, porn and essentially all the stuff I have no intnerest in. I find it much easier, efficient and more effective than creating favourite lists.

I was bored, and trying to hide them myself, and decided that I would ask in here, if anyone had any suggestions other than what I have tried. I'm sure there are plenty of trivial questions on this thing called the internet, squished in between questions about Quantum physics. I guess I could pretend that I'm really angry, and say how this has me considering leaving Bell once and for all, but the Rogers door to door salesman was by last week, and the Rogers offering wasn't enough to make me "angry".;) I'm saving my anger for when my programming disappears because my smartcards are MIA...

If you are bored call Bell TV and demand a replacement receiver. Not being able to hide porno or any other channels for that matter should be enough to have it replaced. Tell them your kids were asking you what venus is :D

Maybe request a credit for the hassle as well.

Have you set a "locks" password for your system? You HAVE to choose #3 lock system first and set a password before any of the "hide" features will take effect. Otherwise you will continue to get all the same channels showing up. You can tell if you've done this becuase once you do this option #5 will no longer be greyed-out.

simple, the HD starts after all the SD channels and sense the porn is SD then it make sense. go set your locks to hide adult and hide PPV
