Weird bumps on my mouth?

A while ago A random bump formed on the top of my mouth, and it kind of hurts to push on it, and every time I do, it feels like the tooth in front of it is going to pop out. Then a little more recently another bump, bigger than the first formed in front of the same tooth. They feel like they're filled with some kind of liquid but I tried to pop the first one with a sterile needle and it wouldn't . . . Does anyone know what this could be?
I know I need to go to the dentist, but things are tight right now.
I am a smoker if that effects anything?
