I have very mild asthma, it used to be bad, but I lost between 50 and 60lbs and it pretty much went away. I have a ventolin inhaler just in case, but probably haven't used it in a year.
however, the other night I was out getting some food and got lost after dinner, and ended up having to walk for about a half hour to find my car in reasonably cold temperatures, and it flared up really bad. I've also caught some sort of cold or upper respiratory infection, and that's causing it to flair too. I'm hoarse, I feel like I can't catch my breath and my chest feels tight. If I just stay laying down or sitting with heat on it, then it isn't too bad. But if I exert myself at all it worsens very quickly.
I can use my inhaler, but I'm wondering if there are some other self-help things I could do since I can't see my doctor until Tuesday and the inhaler isn't quite cutting it. I remeraber hearing once that hot coffee can help, but I find the inhaler to be agitating and I don't want to be up all night.
Thanks!
