For several months now I have been experiencing strange and scary pain in my hands and I am hoping maybe someone can at least give me a clue about it.
What happens is that when there is any pressure to the back side of my hand there is a good chance of very severe pain that feels like it is in the bones. Both hands are effected, though in different spots sometimes. This happens at least a couple of times a day even though I am careful. It can be anything from the steering wheel in my car, opening a door while holding something, picking up my cello and holding the bow between fingers, etc. The pain is anything from bad to literally taking me off my feet and lasts from a few seconds to a couple minutes. The worst spot on both hands is just below my pinky on the outside edge of the hand... a place that really isn't supposed to be sensitive, but can have me in tears and unable to do anything but be in pain for a couple of minutes.
I have had carpal tunnel, nerve damage, and tendon problems in my left wrist/hand for years but this is a very different pain. It scares me because it seems like bone pain, which can't be a good thing; and because I depend on my hands to make a living.
I can't afford a doctor right now, but obviously will be going when I can. Any ideas at all, I can't find any reference to a pressure sensitive pain in the back of hands online.
