Yeah, I thought I was going out on a lirab sending you that, seeing as I didn't know if you were a fan or not. Rufus Wainwright's version of Chelsea Hotel and I'm Your Man and Suzanne by Nick Cave are probably my personal picks of the litter, if not some of my favourite covers of all time. Good to hear you pretty much enjoyed it anyway.

I'm just listening to the album you sent me now. I'm gonna give it two end-to-end listens before reviewing it though, so I'll post it tomorrow.

Also, here's who's probably up for the next trade so far;

+81
Bulldog
Crash_Override
Duga
James44754
NuraberNineDream
UnchainedBallad

Anyone else want in? The theme for this next swap, in case you didn't already know, is officially-released compilations, be they best ofs/single collections, various artist compilations or whatever. It'd be cool to get at least 4 more people on the idea - I imagine we'll be starting the trade sometime next week.

I do understand what you're saying about the psychedelic music tag. I don't see this in the same way as psychedelic music that's considered 'trippy' but in the sense that the Indian inspired Beatles music is considered psychedelic. It makes sense that you might be accustomed to this because of your location but I don't hear a lot like it here in Canada. I really like this album so feel free to recommend me some more Middle-Eastern folk like this.

Nice one :thurab:

I've listened to Ben FolRAB once, but I'm gonna give it another go before I get some feedback on it typed up. By the way, forgot to mention, the next trade starts on Feburary 1st, so we've all got bags of time with this one.

I'm glad you like it! :D I agree it isn't anything TOO groundbreaking but I'm very surprised at how well made it is for a band who only ended up sticking around for 2 albums (one under Niflheim). I wasn't sure if you were gonna go for that or the Sortsind! Both mint albums but definitely far apart stylistically.

Got this one from Anteater:

For awhile now I've been wanting to get into smooth jazz because of how positive it always sounded and the fact that I tie into the beach and vacation. I'm not sure why.. but every time I hear it I always think of a vacation I had in Florida. I get feelings and vague images but I get a very clear picture of me looking out the window at the sun and hearing the music. It's fandiddles.

I was leery at first when I heard "80s" because, for some reason, when I hear music noticeably older than the 90s I feel weirdly uncomfortable or just put off. I can't really explain it (like most of the "feelings" I get) but regardless, my worries were resolved when I put it on and could tell it was definitely from the late 80s; 1989 to be exact. The whole album is exactly what I expected from the genre; that feeling of carelessness like you're on a vacation and maybe drinking some sort of alcoholic beverage (I don't drink despite my German and Irish background and last name of "Beers"). So I guess I'd just be drinking water.. but you get my drift. I'm happy to finally have been introduced to the genre and shall do some exploring!

Thanks kind sir :D
