actually. i need to give this album a little more time... i just switched it up mid-post. i WILL review this tommorow or later tonight though. this is definitely a grower. 5 listens already need more i think...not all have been while clear headed.

Hmm... I haven't run into Zeppy too much, but I know he made an awesome S African comp that I just got around to recently. Anything in particular you're looking for? Your last.fm appears heavy on psychedelic rock and reggae... I have something in mind, but it might be a long shot.

BRAD STENGEL IS BACK!!!!

Anyway, Urban sent me Gorky's Zygotic Mynci(ha didn't even to look at iTunes to spell it correctly :D), I think it was like 20 singles or something, and I really loved it. I don't know how to classify it but it was weird, upbeat, catchy, and amazing all wrapped up in one. The track The Game of Eyes really stuck out to me, because it was so quirky. I would compare them to That HanRABome Devil.

Thanks man :thurab:

I'm glad you liked it, and you're right about the need of changes. It bores me sometimes when I hear the whole album. I usually listen to the stand-outs more of the whole. But in other times the album just takes me away.

i know i'm trying to be open to genres i'm not usually open to why do you think i've been posting about rap and hip hop? so is FaSho still controling this or are you?

From my good pal storymilo:

The Royal Tenenbaums OST
Various%2BArtists%2B-%2BThe%2BRoyal%2BTenenbaums.jpg

This was one of those movies that I've always liked a lot, but would have never thought to have checked out in the soundtrack department. But low and behold, it is an excellently eclectic (38 of them!) batch of tunes; for every bit of Nick Drake and Bob Dylan there's a 6-minute classical suite that work great whether in the context of the movie or not. Then again, this being composed by Seymour Hoffman look-alike Mark Mothersbaugh (of Devo), I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Still, the variety here is the strongest draw: there's something for everyone, especially considering the nuraber of tracks present. Hell, there's even some Ramones. Personally however, the tracks I dug most were the Nico ones, such as in 'The Fairest of the Seasons' and 'These Days'; there's just something about the Baroque arrangements and her voice that snuggles in well in the context of the other songs for me, as well as the overall mood.

So at the end of the day, I am quite pleased with it all: while other soundtracks I've run across have hit me a little deeper than this one, I can't recall the last time I've enjoyed going through a soundtrack at first listen as much as I've had going through here: quite a blast really!

So kudos to story for this OST; I am entertained.
