Wedding photo editing techniques...?

I have Gimp and I've used it for a little while. I was trying to learn some techniques for my wedding photos (just got them back last week) - I can't find any good tutorials online to really make them look like a professional edited them. Thought someone might be generous enough to help me out? Point me to a good website? Give me some tips/techniques?
 
Your wedding photos should already be professional looking.

Professional images are produced in the camera by a professional photographer.

Using any post production program like the free GIMP, is no way to make something into what is is not already. You cannot even do that using the $700 Photoshop CS4. While some slight enhancements can be made using such a program, that is it. The cost of "saving" poor images using such a program can take hours and hours of work per image and of course having many years of experience with such a program is important too.
