Problem number 1: I am wearing a red wedding dress, the wedding is in December. My other half is wearing a 'normal' dark grey suit with ivory shirt. Any ideas on tie/waistcoat colours? I am thinking red tie or cravat to match my dress and maybe tie in the colours of my bridesmaids (green) with the flowers. Both dads and brothers have asked for ties to match my husband to bes... is that usual? Any ideas would be great and links to pics would be super helpful.

Problem 2: I have a silk wrap to match my dress but realise that it wont keep me warm when we are outside having pictures taken etc. Does anyone know of any good ideas or places to lok for jackets or wraps? No one seems to do much by way of jackets. The dress is red.

no the groom shouldn't wear a green tie, come on. gray suit, ivory shirt, black tie, period. usually if the wedding party is in tuxes, the groom has a different color tie from the fathers and groomsmen and best man. but if you have the groom in a black tie, which will look nice with that suit, that's a regular color that the rest of the men can wear also.

for yourself just get a nice black silk bolero for outside. even if it's lined it may not keep you warm but at least you'll be covered. I would add black as another wedding color, if your bridesmaids are in green and you in red you don't want too much green around because that's just too christmasy.

Im not a fan of the trend of men wearing bright colored ties and coats to match the bridal party. I think in 20 years, people are going to look back on their photos and cringe. Men look good in classic suits. So if he is wearing a dark gray suit, how about a gray or black tie, look for something with a slight pattern or texture to it.

Honestly I would not invest in a special bridal wrap, although there are websites selling them if thats what you want. I would just do with freezing for a short time, or bring a soft blanket in a solid color.

Actually the Groom should be wearing a Black suit, not grey, Grey is normally for a morning wedding. Cream shirt, tie with a cream vest. The only red for the groom would be in his flower.

Dads do not wear the same color shirt and tie as groom, they wear white shirt and black tie and vest. Groomsmen match the girls with tie and vest.

The silk wrap, will work best, your not going to be outside too long for pictures, and you don't want to cover your dress up for pictures.

i would say but your hubby in a red tie and put all the others in green tie, you want him to look different in some way

as for keeping you warm how about a faux fur bolero? in cream? this would look so gorgeous and perfect for a winter wedding, not everyone likes this look tho so if not then have a nice cream mac on standby, just bear with the cold for pictures and then slip the mac on to travel!
