As a quest favor, we're doing a candy buffet for our upcoming July wedding. We'll have a variety of different candies in dishes, with little bags for our guests to fill.

We're expecting approximately 70 or so guests for this event.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this before, and how much it cost for the candies? Not the dishes or bags, just the candy.

I'm budgeting our wedding out, and would like an approximate price for how much it's going to cost. I was thinking if I get the candy in bulk, it shouldn't be anymore than $200 for a variety of different kinds.

Cheers!
These are all great ideas so far!

We're probably going to go with Costco, as that's where we're buying a number of items such as appetizers, and things for the main course. We're doing all the food ourselves, so we've got quite the workload ahead of us...but it's saving us a ton of money for our incredibly laid back, outdoor wedding. :o)

well i went to a wedding that did that which was nice because it was different then most usual weddings.it will depend on the cost because it depends on were you go for example places like bj`s will sell huge bags for 5 dollars and there are 200 pieces in it.best of luck.hope your wedding is nice

I think that's a great idea! You should check out Sam's Club or Costco and you should be able to get pretty good deals there. You can buy in bulk from them, as well. Congrats on your marriage!

I just got married in September and we had a Candy buffet. It was a big hit. We had about 100 people and I spent $400 on candy, bags, vase to put the Candy in.

I have a few pictures of what we did, I can email them to you. (i don't have photo book.)

I am not sure if you are in the Los Angeles area, but I have all the vases..(really nice ones and different shapes). If you want to borrow them. I would be great if someone else got some use of of them.

i think $200 is more than enough for a candy buffet. If you buy wholesale you could probably do a fist size bag for $1 per person.
