Website That Explains Bicycle Classes?

Hi All,
Is there a website I can go to and read up on bicycle classes? I mean there is comfort,hybrid,street, road,hardtail etc classed for bikes.I'm not sure what is best for me so some education in this area would be very helpful before going out shopping.Thanks!

I'm looking all over for you pal, but I can't come up with anything right now, I'm more into dirtbiking and putting dirtbikes into classes is way easier than it is for bicycles lol, sorry
