"Windows Mobile Free
We have end-of-lifed our Windows Mobile products. They are now free with no support."

As of Jan 17th, 2011, the WM line of products are available as freeware. Alex Kac made a hard decision based in the overall discontinuity that prevails among WM and Windows Phone. This is a bad news, in that WebIS has decided to abandon an important segment of their effort. Yet, to all of us freeware lovers, this is a good news, especially cause they could have kept this to themselves, and yet they decided to openly share it.

These apps are mostly available through MobiHand:

FlexMail

Notes2Self

Pocket Informant 9 WM - Editor's Choice and Winner of 2008 Best PIM award v9.10

JournalSync is available straight from WebIS.

Other downloads are available at Handango.

Indeed. There are higher cost, lower quality, more obsolete products that either retain prices from their heyday (also without real support), or simply disappear from availability. But it's a savvy business move too. They know most winmo users are going to end up as Android, Blackberry, or iOS users eventually, and when they do, they'll be used to and familiar with PI et al. I congratulate WebIS on both their generosity and their savvy. Indeed, part of the reason I haven't purchased it already is that I'm not super-eager to buy it twice.

Thanks hal! :)

I also notice they have finally comitted to developing PI for WebOS, though there is no timeline yet. I don't think Alex would do that unless he had some reason to be optimistic about WebOS's future.

Played around with PI today. I've yet to install the email app.

PI is interesting. Not as customizable as I had hoped, but it seems to be doing what I need.

I've installed Pocket Informant (again) and Flexmail. More impressions later. A download link for Notes2Self is in my inbox, but I'm not sure I really want it. We'll see.

I noticed on the WEBIS forum that there are registration codes for Flex Mail (I didn't look for the other two) but neither of these worked on my PPC. Since there is no more support does anyone have any idea's how to get these to work? I assume since they made the codes available, they must be required but I don't know.

Never mind, either I did something wrong when I tried this 5 times yesterday but today it worked.
