I've weened down to less than an eight of a 2mg tab of suboxone every other day. I'm scared sh*tless that I'm going to get sick when I finally kick for good. I cant imagine stopping from 8mgs! Does anyone have any experience with getting off suboxone on such a trace amount. I hope its not like some of these horror stories. Good luck to you all.

how you feeling now? Id like to know too if anyones ever gotten off suboxone because my wife has been on it for almost 2 yrs and shows no signs. Not to dicorage you, but id like to find out more of what its like to be on it, because if i ask her she says shes not on it.

Also, the bottle reaRAB "suboxone 8mg/2mg tablets"...take 1.5/day ...how many mg's is she to take daily?

Hi Fluffhead,
I jumped at about 2mg. Today is 16 days for me.. I have read and only read this, so take it for what this is worth.
It should be easier for you to jump. You probably will have some WD's, because SUB is so strong, its scarey......
I hope for your sake your WD's are mild...... Keep me posted ok. I will be here for you when ever you need someone... Good Luck.... Also PLEASEE don't let the WD's stop you from jumping...
For me the thought of getting off the SUB's and going through these Horrible WD's scared me so bad, just the thought of going through them kept me on them for another 8 months!
Then I desided it was time ( I still had about 20 8mg. pills left, I threw them down the sink) and never looked back. This was probably the hardest thing I have ever done, But Im determined to stay off from them...
I had horrific WD's, but I'm welcoming them, because I know It is for me and only me that I'm getting off of them............
Today Im proud to say everyday is a good day even with the WD's without SUB's in my life!

Audacityof Dope..............There are alot of us on here that have gotten off of SUBs and are staying off of them! It was the fight of our lives to do it............But we have made a commitment to never go back on them...........
If your wife is taking them, there is nothing you can do.....
When I was on SUb's it made me feel normal, act normal, noone in my family except my sister knew I was on them.......... Hopefully in time she will get off of them.. SounRAB like you need a heart to heart talk with her... Good Luck...

hi ... thanks for the reply. I've been reading your story with interest and empathy. I am almost out of my suboxone. I've been taking the trace amount (about an eight of a 2m [i crushed it and separated it into little paper seals...a trick from my using days].) I wait until I feel the pangs of WD and then take the little bit. It blows my mind that so little of something can still have such a strong effect. I am trying to decide if I need to stay at this trace amount for a few weeks longer before stopping or just going here. The consensus says the longer you stay at each step down the better but I'm racking my brain trying to figure out if I'm just putting myself on the seesaw up and down for no real benefit when I finally kick for good. I'm scared sh*tless. Everything in my life is going well, and now it's time to pay the piper. what an evil evil evil thing opiates are. I can't believe I got myself into this. Its been over two years since I did my DOC. Its basically not possible to get any lower a dose, so its just a matter of when I step off. thanks for getting back to me. it really feels good to know someone is out there.

I am taking as little as possible every other day. I don't know what to expect. I've read some horror stories. It doesn't give me a kick and never has, it's not something that compells the addict in me to lie about, so I dont know if your wife would be bsing you about it, but one thing I've learned from this is that people are dramatically different in their responses and reactions to addiction, treatment and recovery. I wish I could help you. Keep in touch!

Hi fluff,

I have a feeling you're going to be just fine. If you're being that particular about taking trace amounts, I think you're heading in the right direction :)

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you, hoping everything runs smoothly for you.
