Weak signal on sat 82 transponder 8

Recently we had a very mild rain yet I lost quite a few HD channels. I checked the dish pointing and transponders 8,6,4,10 were all around 40-45. I checked them again on a clear day and they are only up to 55-60. I have some transponders on 82 as high as 80+. Is something wrong with my dishpointing? Is it normal for these particular transponders to be lower? Can I improve things considerably by adjusting my dish?

I am strongly considering getting a 24-30" dish for the 82 sat, but wanted to make sure my present system is working properly first.
 
all the even transonders low on 1 sat Strongly suggests a bad/corroded connection, between the dish and switch.
Could be an LNB problem, not as likely. I'd start by swapping cables to isolate the problem.

I got bigger dishes (33") and get much, much less rain fade, but it still happens with really severe storms. Drawback is that when they collect snow, they collect a lot of snow. :D

on 82, 4, 6, 8 & 10, I have 97 or 100 right now.
