This is a great read, nicely outlining the human nature behind what leads us to go down the road of entitlement programs and "progressivism".

Hopefully the country, if not the world, is realizing that we need to swing back the other way, that we are indeed "too broke" to save everyone.

Once upon a time, when I was still entrenched in my semi-conservative phase, I actually enjoyed this guy's writing style.

Today, the above reads like a neo-conservative tract that could have been gleaned from any other conservative hand. There's nothing special in this.
 
Do we, the U.S., still create the most waste compared to other countries on earth? Even compared to China and India?
 
We produce the largest chunk of the world's wealth, we are bound to produce most of the waste too.
