We were about to have sex and he said "Stop"!?

I am in my mid thirties and so is this guy I really like. We were getting hot and heavy in my car in a vacant lot. I was ready to have sex. This was the first time that we would have been together in that way and I could tell that he really wanted it too. But he stopped me and said that as much as he wanted to make love to me that this was not the right place. He wanted it to be special the first time we were together because he cars about me and respects me. Could that be true??? Does this really show that I am important to him or could he just be avoiding sex with me?
 
He probably cares about you a lot. If he didn't care about you he wouldn't care where you did it as long as you got it done. He wanted the moment to be special with you, and normal, like in a bed or something.
 
Ok first of all your in your mid thirties and your having sex in cars in vacant lots? Do neither of you own a house or apt that you could go to? I am 23 and don't even do that any more. Secondly sounds like you have been hurt before, don't think all men are buttholes and are only using you for sex. If he didn't want to in the car then he does care and wants it to mean more, then in a car like teenagers. Just let it happen when both of you are ready.
 
and why would he be avoiding sex with you? he's a guy, and presumably not gay or a serial killer. give the man some credit for not treating you like some kind of gutterwhore.
 
Guys are suckers for sex.What your guy did shows that he respects you and cares about you because he's resisting doing what he does best:P cause he wants to make it a mamorable and spacial time.He genuinely cares about you.
