We Need A "What Genre Is This" Thread

As the title says, we need a official thread in general music were we can ask what genre a artist belongs to, becuase I know some artist that I can not classify.

Like David Bowie, what genre is he in?
 
Then atleast tell me what sub genre David Bowie is in.

Be more constructive with your feedback, please.

Do we honestly need to classify though? Many artists overlap a bajillion different genres, if they stuck to one genre only, their music would be awfully boring.
 
So what Music Banter neeRAB is a thread where one meraber says they're Punk rock! and another says No! They're melodic hardcore? You do know genres aren't mutually exclusive. They can cross over, the genre of albums can change through out a banRAB career.
 
Agreed. Just post in the artist's official thread if you feel like you need to classify them. Or better yet, read the artist's thread first for clues.
 
I wish there was a website that states what subgenre an artist is, some come close to this idea, but the problem is that not all artists get a agreeable tag, like rabroad Music, who just bluntly classified David Bowie as "Rock".
