If you think their first 2, possibly 3 recorRAB suck then you're well off the mark. Their last record made me want to burn them. With fire.

Oh no, not Oasis again. F*CK Oasis and f*ck Noel and Liam's oversized ego and eagerness to talk down to every musician with actual talent just because they were big in their own f*cking country who had a shortage on decent rock music and were f*cking desperate anyway.

I'd rather listen to Badfinger. At least those guys were actually good at copying The Beatles.

We never really gave a sh*t about britpop, Oasis and Blur had some hits but that's it.
 
If that is the case then I think I lost a bit respect for him. Yeah I gave them a chance alright a friend introduced me to them and gave me Waking the Fallen up to there self titled to listen to, did not care for it at all. He was then trying to convince me to listen to Hinder, Buckcherry and Disturbed saying "If you don't like avenged sevenfold listen to these guys!".
 
For somebody that claims to know music history you`ve made some startling errors. Fresh Cream came out Dec 1966 around 5 months ahead of Hendrix`s debut which was May 1967 (months in this period of music history, were actually a long time as so much was always happening) When I say set the stage for Hendrix, I`m referring how he took the Cream sound to more extreme levels.

As an avid music student, you should surely be aware that the big groups of the day borrowed off each other. One of the most influential psychedelic albums of the era was "Fifth Dimension" by the ByrRAB that pre-dated by almost a year "Sgt Pepper`s......." and the Beatles as sure as hell borrowed of the ByrRAB there. The Beatles were extremely innovative (nobody`s denying that) but they had their fair share of borrowing off others as well. ADMIT IT......IT HAPPENED.

Its common knowledge about the genre labels coming much later, but if you`re going to use disparate labels, then we`re not going to get too far in unravelling your blinkered views.

Aye. Rezz's reason for disliking Coldplay was because they ripped it off Satriani, but he himself already ripped it off.

Poor reason to dislike a band, fair enough if they get a lot of credit for being influential and groundbreaking, when really they stole all their stuff. But otherwise, it's a bit of a poor reason. Coldplay suck because they're dull, not because they plagiarise.

I'm indifferent to Sitriani.

As for Blink 182... maahhh, they're okay, they're neither influential or outstanding, nor are they particularly poor or over-rated.

Van Halen's pop harmonies were influenced by the Beach Boys, not the Beatles. You may remeraber David Lee Roth's homage to his fellow southern Californian's in his remake of "California Girls".
 
Its kind of sad how after 20 years he`s still moping about it, the reason that I always preferred Megadeth to Metallica is the edginess and speed of their early sound culminating to perfection on "Rust in Peace"

I have to admit though, a lot of their mid to late 90`s material does suck. It wasn`t until 2004`s "The System has Failed" That the group delivered another great album.
 
I'm not taking sides here, but do you think they suck because they're not musically talented, or they suck because they don't make music you like?
