We are poets....are we cowards with creative masks?

I was walked all over for years, a regular door mat..
One day I grew strong and took charge, I certainly do not consider myself a coward, however sometimes I would prefer to walk away from conflict ... in fact run!
I doubted (with Ian's support, God love him) for many months that I was in fact a poet at all or a fraud, I still have moments of lapses in judgement.
I will not hide from those who persecute or try to quell my voice,
 
Amen Cassie! :) Masks are for cowards...True poets need not hide, but express their thoughts and emotions for the world to see. Accepting both criticism and praise, learning, and improving their verses as they go. It is all a creative experience.
 
Not in my book, I am no coward and neither do I hide behind a creative mask anymore. Although, it could be said I did once upon a time, for fear of being ridiculed for my poetic efforts. I stand in front of the curtain nowadays, not behind it
