We are never truly free

My mother went to a seminar a few months back... they had a guy give a speech about homosexuality. Basically, what he said, was he didn't agree with it.

He was a teacher, lost his job, and was taken to court.

So basically he lost his job for admitting his discrimination. I'd expect the same thing if the guy had said he didn't agree with black people.
What point is that? The guy was free to do and say whatever he wanted to. He exercised that freedom and admitted that he was prejudice. His employer was then free to fire him based on his actions. Freedom doesn't mean that everyone says "hey that's fucked up, but since you're free you can do whatever you want." People are free to say and do whatever they want, but their actions and words have consequences.

I guess some people just can't grasp the concept of freedom though.

Didn't he do it on company time though? I'm sure the company was only protecting their own interests; who wants an employee that could be labeled a bigot? I would have fired him too...

Also, saying "I don't agree with black people" would definitely come off as racist, there would be no need to say "all blacks are going to hell" because it sends the same message. So how is it different because he was talking about homosexuals?

I think it's retarded that people don't associate anti-homosexuals with bigotry like they would racists. Both groups are being descriminated against for something they didn't choose and can't change.

Sometimes, I wish all those get rich fast schemes actually worked so I didn't have anything to worry about. I could be spending the rest of my life doing whatever I please.

I strongly disagree.

You are the author of your own life.

If you don't like the way it works, change it. Work for a different life. Either that or lie back and accept it. Either way you are responsible for what you make of life.

I know what thats like. Year 8 in visual arts class we had to bring in spoon and fork to do some stupid art shit and my mate was obsessed with my pair and wouldn't give em back so i got really agitated and said loudly "Give me my fork and spoon!" pretty fast. Dumb bitch almost gave me an afternoon detention.

I didn't take the time to actually read this, but technically, you can have more than 15 years of freedom.

What if you win the lottery for 150 million at age 21?

I'd consider myself pretty free.
