I also loved the scene where Red is talking to Nate and Nate asks if everything is going to be okay and Red says yes. It's so inspiring. Then they just hug and cry. Great stuff.
 
I loved that moment in the chapel with Red and Jack....I agree. I loved when Jack was telling Red...someday, they would get back to how they were.
 
My dream commentary would be Foxy/Matthew M. and the real-life guys they portrayed, Jack and Red.
 
That's so true. Thanks for pointing that out. I agree, that definitely makes this "sport" movie different from all the rest. I love it. :)
 
The main thing which makes this more than just a football drama is the fact the core message is the exact OPPOSITE of what most sports films are about: Winning ISN'T everything in this instance.

The scene with Fox and McConaughey in the church where he (McConaughey) basically states winning isn't everything is what this movie is all about and why I am sure it was made because all movies come down to one, or two scenes that convince the studios to invest in the film as amazing as this sounds.
 
That would be amazing! Getting to hear Matthew & Foxy throughout the whole movie talking about their experiences...now I can't wait for the DVD. :lol:
 
:nod: I totally agree. He chose a great first movie script. I can't wait to see more from him. He's amazing.
 
:nod: Yeah, I was glad that WAM wasn't another "Remember The Titans." I love that movie too but the two are totally different movies and I love that about them. WAM just was so inspiring, and sad, and uplifting at the same time. I agree, the talent was incredible. :)
 
Awww, what you said about it was just beautiful! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It was about much more than just football. And, the talent.....just blew me away.
 
i just saw this movie this weekend and it was amazing!!!

i was expecting just another football movie like "Remember the Titans" (no offense to that movie..i liked it!) but it totally blew me away. it was so much more than just football. it really showed how these people and this town dealt with tragedy.

the first thing my bf said when we walked out was "so, when didn't you cry during that movie?" and i think that pretty much sums it up. lol

so classy, chilling, and wonderfully done in every aspect!!!
 
I think this was such a great script for Foxy to take for his first big-screen role.
 
I LOVED this movie. It was so sad yet so inspiring. All the actors did great. I love Matthew McConaughey but it's Foxy that never fails to floor me. And I totally agree that Mr. Fox has the most amazing talent for emotional acting. I'm with you all on his scene at the end...:love: It was just heart-breaking. So beautiful. Such a great movie. :)
 
:nod: Yeah, carrying around that burden must have been so unbearable. I agree, the sad thing is it was hard for him to realize that it was in no way his fault. That moment when he gives in to his grief is so heart-breaking and so real.

I'm wondering if this film will get any kind of Oscar buzz? Oscar or no it's a beautiful story, I just think it deserves some kind of recognition from the industry. It is so raw and right in your face and very "non-hollywood," and that's one of the many great things about it. The sad thing is it's very rare in the industry now.
 
You could tell he had been carrying around nothing but guilt...though he could never have known...yet, he'd been keeping it all inside. So, when he finally did break down...it made it even more powerful...utterly amazing! I couldn't even imagine carrying around something like that...though, agian, it wasn't his fault.
 
Foxy is tied with Leo as being the best on-screen crier, in my opinion. Just amazing!
