What is it about Lottery money and torture porn?
This isn't as dreadful as "Mum & Dad" but it's still harrowing stuff.
The victim of an appalling assault seeks vengeance on her attackers by forcing them to kill. Contrived but with some compelling performances and enough twists to keep you guessing.
I was more than halfway through it before realising I was watching Tom Hardy completely disappearing into one of his signature nutter roles. How does he play these loons without ending up as one himself?

I caught this on Sky the other week and thought it was absolutely shit.

i normally like this sort of thing, and it sounded promising in the summary "seven" meets "saw" i think it promised.

total crap

There's another film coming out at the end of September, made with lottery money, called White Lightnin', that's a wee bit.... interesting shall we say, as well.

It was money well spent at least on a decent film, unlike crap like Sex Lives of the Onion Men, or whatever that lottery funded film was...

I don't count Torture Porn as a film term and never will, thought up by lazy critics. Anyway, compared to other films like this, the gore/violence was relatively low.

The Killing Gene as it's known in America was a decent addition to the horror world imo. WaZ, I don't know how to do the triangle, is the better name. I just liked the whole altruism/Price's equation thing.

And that's why I never take any notice of those sort of comments.

I think it's usually written WDeltaZ.

I did think "Sex Lives of the Potato Men" was funnier than either "Shaun of the Dead" or "Hot Fuzz", both chuckle-free zones for me.

The Lottery seems to be doing what the Eady Levy used to do: funding (often) rubbish UK movies no one in their right mind (present company excepted) would ever want to see.
Certain worRAB on a movie credit list make my blood run cold and fear the worst:

"UK Film Council"

"National Lottery"

"Screen Yorkshire"

"Filmed entirely on location in (insert name of crap Northern town/London Borough here)" Good thing this always goes at the end; should be at the start like a health warning.

"Shane Meadows"

"Simon Pegg"

"James MacAvoy"

"Danny Dire"

to name but a few.

How anyone can say Shane Meadows' name makes their blood run cold baffles me. His films are excellent.

The only thing i agree with on that list is Danny Dyer, i wish he'd just f*ck off back to that hole that he came from.

I thought Selma Blair was great in the movie, but the movie was awful.

Definitely one of the worst I've watched and I always love films like this, like Saw and stuff.

It's a curse I tell you! For as long as I can recall I've liked movies everyone else hates and enjoyed tv shows no one else has even heard of.
I think it's terminal.:)
