You know, I had a life-changing traumatic event happen to me (when I was 17) while Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was playing in the background. Scarred me for years. Then one evening I was sitting in a Paris cafe near Chatelet Les Halles, with some friends, and it came on the radio. It was devastating for me - I hadn't heard the song since those many years before, as far as I could tell.
I quickly realized it was being played over and over again on French radio stations as advertisement for the film. Then I saw the movie - which was wonderful.
I still get a little twitchy when I hear it playing and I don't have any warning, but I credit Mike Meyers for desensitizing me to a song I used to love and can now enjoy again.
Also - Mike Meyers pretty much helped resurrect Rob Lowe's career. It was thought to be dead up until he was willing to hilariously debase himself. *lol*
