Guess what, you hippie shithead. Energy is the lifeblood of industrial society. We should be consuming MORE oil, not less. But environmental laws and other regulations have arrested oil production, creating a supply/demand irabalance and skyrocketing prices. The US economy will NEVER recover until this country drastically increases its oil production.
 
I don't think lower oil prices would make that much of a difference for our domestic economy.

However, I do think everyone would benefit if our government regulated how much the price of gas could fluctuate in a single year. This would allow people and business to more easily budget for their transportation costs.
 
You mean the government doesn't fix the price of oil to ensure that social justice prevails over corporate profits? What kind of free market conservaderp nightmare are we living in?
 
It could benefit america in the long run, when we have a controlling stake in available oil.

How many years will that be though, will most of us be long dead when that happens?
