Waxing problem

I'm a 25 years old male in pretty good physical condition. Somehow I had it in my head that my pecs would look better without hair on them ( ... pretty stupid I know ). So I went to this salon on Friday ( 3 days ago ) to get my chest/abs hair waxed.

Here's what the lady told me. She didn't re-use the wax, she applied some sort of light/radio waves afterwards and used two different kinds of lotions.

Immediately after my chest/abs were red and from there on it became worse. It started with red pimples from where the hair used to be and now it's red pimples with white heads all over the place.

This was my first time waxing.

Is this supposed to happen ?
How long will this last ?
Can I make it go away faster ?
Should I ever wax again or is it not for me ?

Thank you!

It is perfectly normal reaction (sorry, don't know the percentage of people who have this reaction but would venture to guess it is well over 50 percent).

How long will this last ?

A couple of days . . . depending on the individual. My skin is fair, but one my legs (tougher skin, granted) it was generally gone the next morning.

Can I make it go away faster ?

An aloe or other soothing cream might help.

Should I ever wax again or is it not for me ?

Only you can answer that one.!

Yeah, it's pretty common on more sensitive skin. Doesn't happen with my legs, but it happens on my bikini line! lol. Usually when the hair starts growing back a few days later, though.
My brother shaves his chest and won't let the hair grow back in because whenever it starts to, it gets too itchy.
