A spectrum of a distant galaxy has a strong Lyman alpha emission line at a wavelength of 127.7nm. In the lab, this line would normally occur at the wavelength 121.6. Why is the line shifted to longer wavelengths in the galaxys spectrum? What is the redshift of this galaxy? How fast is it moving?
