Watchmen?

I'm really interested in the film and seeing what they do with it.

This is airing during TDK but only in IMAX screenings. And boy, was this trailer beautiful on that big screen! The whole theater started cheering like mad after it was done.
Props to them because they did a damn good job with it, especially with the use of the smashing pumpkins track

Moore has disowned every movie adaption of his books - he's petulant like that. I've learned not pay no heed to his public tantrums about them.

Well... he and Dave Gibbons were royally screwed by DC comics.
His fights with Hollywood, the comic industry, fascists, gun totting nut jobs etc... make for ace top level interviews.

He's different. I like different. And he's still a prolific creator. He can do what he likes imo.

He doesn't "disown" them or have tantrums, he simply has no interest in them, and wants to be absolved from any credit or discredit regarding them. That's seemingly hard to understand in a culture that regarRAB the cult of film and tv, and celebrity as the highest accolade possible.

Crikey, they look fantastic! I sincerely hope they don't mess this up. To be honest, I have a feeling it's going to be very special indeed. Though I liked the V movie very much, they did lose much of the depth of the book. I don't think this will happen here.

This months Empire talks of the Black Freighter story being made with animation for the DVD release, and an eventual Watchmen Special Edition with the Black Freighter story re-inserted into the film proper. I won't get sniffy about them cutting that from the theatrical release, since I can see how it could cause problems in movie-language, but I'm thrilled they haven't completely jettisoned it.

/optimism hat set to FULL!

How cool does the Nite Owl II look! I mean, for a Batman/Blue Beetle pastiche he really stanRAB out!

I can't wait until he starts moaning about having all his kit to take down purse-snatchers and prostitutes!! Priceless!

I also think that Viedt looks pretty cool too...
