Watchmen?

Can it be true? I noted on the cover of some film mag (which I didn't buy :)) that there's a film in production called "Watchmen". Is this the Alan Moore graphic novel masterpiece brought to the silver screen after so many years, or is that too much to hope for?
Anyone with any info I would certainly appreciate it!
Thx

Yes, it's the movie adaptation of the comic books. Photos and videos from the set have been released every now and then for awhile now. You can check out the official Watchmen movie website:

Yep, the trailer is attached to TDK. In the States anyway. Not sure about over here.

I'll be interested to see how the movie turns out.

This is FAN-TASTIC! Best news this year so far!
Real pity AM isn't going to be involved though, in fact he's disowned the project. I'd love to be loyal to him, but JESUS I can't wait to see this!!!!!!!!! :D
Roll on June next year (Oh My GOD! A whole YEAR???)

Oops! It's March, not June! Those crazy Americans, with their backwarRAB dates! :)
Oh well, that's three months knocked off the wait already! Hooray! :D
BTW, anyone know where I can catch the webisodes they're talking about on the site?

Second that. Plus "The Dark Knight returns". Thought they made a little of a hash of the movie version of V4V, but overall not too bad. Hopefully Watchmen will be much more faithful to the graphic novel (which I am now going to read again, after all these years!)

Yeah I got an email from Empire online saying that the Watchmen trailer will be available to watch from 5am tomorrow morning (Friday 18th July)

Here is the info from Empire website:

"There's been a very long wait for a first look at footage from Zack Snyder's take on Watchmen, The Greatest Comic Book Of All Time™. That wait is very nearly over.

The trailer for the movie, about a world where betighted crime fighting heroes have been outlawed, will be showing in US cinemas in front of The Dark Knight. But for those outside the US, or who haven't snapped up a ticket for Batman's first day, you can see the trailer exclusively online here at Empire on Friday morning from 5am GMT (or 9pm PST on Thursday). Trust us, it's worth getting up early for.

Watchmen will be released in March 2009."

Well, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Dark Knight Returns were never graphic novels. They were comics first on high quality paper. When the print runs ran out they collected them into big books (with poorly glued together papers). Later on they were dubbed 'graphic novels'.

I guess the best example of a 'pure' graphic novel made into a film is 'God Loves Man kills' that X-men 2 was based on.

Holy crap that trailer looks fantastic. I really can't believe they're going to pull this off!

A bloody year I have to wait! Good luck to all involved, I hope you do this.
