Watchmen Movie good or bad??

In the book he created the fabric that could adapt to his size, likewise he also invented the shifting patten fabric that rorshach wears as a mask. Buy the book it is well worth it :)

Saw it last week. Thought it was genuinely very good. Well paced and with far more intelligence and political themes than most of its contemporaries, without ever falling in pretentiousness of po-facedness.
He's wearing them in the flashbacks, but not in the modern day (1985) stuff. Having not read the comic, I took it to imply his increased detachment from all things 'human' - right down to the necessity of clothes.

Shocked and stunned you could feel like this! Thought it was brilliant, even without having read the book, which i've now bought and am racing through.

Dr. Manhattan's clothes (or lack thereof) are symbolic of his detachment from humanity - in the flashbacks he's always wearing something, over time this becomes less and less until exposed blue wang time in the present

Have you read it? And HOW could you make a sequel to something where the world's fundamentally changed at the end?! Plus (I hope) no-one in their right mind would try and commit that kind of sacrilege - there's only one watchmen- and the cast, when pressed about this have all said "under no circumstances!"

Yes - awesome - it'll include all the deleted scenes from the movie and the animated "Tales from the Black Freighter" and "Under the hood" from the book - personally can't wait.

The story's a savage deconstruction of the superhero genre - if you've ever seen a superhero movie and enjoyed it GO AND SEE THIS FILM!

I felt the film had a really poor conclusion - New York blows up and suddenly everyone is frienRAB? Also, the dialogue, much of which was lifted straight from the graphic novel, was far too heavy for the screen.

The TV producers made him wear the suit, you can hardly have a naked blue man parading around on daytime TV now can you...

I seriously don't get the fascination with Dr Manhattens penis, it was only in a few scenes but everyone seems to be making out that it's always on view in every scene of the movie. It's a penis...get over it.

And the film is good, but to fully appreciate it you've really got to have read the comic, otherwise you'll probably feel that it is a bit overlong (whereas fans of the comic understand why it had to be so long). That said, my friend who had never heard of the comic enjoyed it immensely.

Same here. Not read the book, but didn't find it over long or particularly complex.

Wasn't bothered by the glowing blue wang at all, but the girls behind me having a good old giggle was distracting.

was interested to see it, and mostly enjoyed it, just because it was a bit different. not knowing too much about them, am i right in thinking they're serialised? because that's how the film seemed - and as a result didn't quite come together as well as a movie.

but having said that, a lot of it was visually stunning - as mentioned already, the opening titles were superb.

Very weird little film but i liked it!

Knew it was based on a graphic novel but not read it, so i went in not knowing what to expect but i think it worked!

The Comedian, Rorshach and Dr Manhattan were the best characters for me. The guy who played the main villian was extremely wooden! The violence at times was extreme but the films an 18 so i wasn't that shocked. The sex scene was hardly that explicit and i don't think it really worked and Dr M's wang, get over it! It's there, so what.

I know there are loaRAB of themes going on throughout the whole film but to me it was more of a detective story about
who killed The Comedian and why.

The film was slow paced at times but you get used to it and i enjoyed the flashbacks and the special effects were fantastic. I want to see it again as the 1st time it was all about 'Watchmen - what is this?'.

I think a lot of people are expecting too much from this film. It won't change your life but it's something you probably won't ever see again on the big screen in this way before.

I thought the acting was excellent, particularly the guy who played Rorshach.
At the end of the day though its a Fanboy love in movie,
people that dip their toes into films like ironman but dont really read comics of any ilk are gonna turn their noses up a bit.
Considering all the plot threaRAB and back stories i believe that the film was far more succesful than i could ever have imagined.
Please Alan get over your self and go and see it at your local multiplex!!!!

I really didn't like this film. Never before have I wanted to walk out of the cinema - but I somehow managed to sit through it all - but I checked my watch about 5 or 6 times.

I found Dr. Manhattan completely stupid - and thought he should have been wearing clothes instead of walking around in his speedo - or as was the case - with absolutely nothing on and his bits hanging out! :o

I didn't like the ending at all - I thought it was utterly ridiculous - and as mentioned, the sex scene was utterly ridiculous!!!! :(

It was just too slow and too all over the place for me, the only good thing about the film was Rorshack. He was good.

Thats my two cents. :)

the movie was complex and it wasnt esy going like great superman , batman , or even spiderman

i thought it would be a comic book super hero movie." its slow and crap" would stay away when it comes out on dvd. 3 out of 10

Saw this today, really didnt know what to expect but my boyfriend wanted to see it. I enjoyed it to a point, i didnt really get the end and got a bit confused in the middle, but i liked the action parts and the story line was intresting.
