Watchmen (2009)

Wow! Not quite LOTR territory with uber-long running times, but that's in the same boat as The Dark Knight, randomly enough. I didn't even think about the time when I was watching that though, and I imagine it'll be the same for this film. I'll be so engrossed and blown away by the epicness, I won't care about the length at all :lol:

I hope they don't have to cut it too much.
 
Why does FOX have to do that?! Can't they just release it and split the profits?! [insert every known cuss to every known language here]
 
That scene is one of my favourites in the movie. I remember watching it for the first time and being like :jaw_drop: I love action scenes in general, but especially and even more so when they're shot as well as that.

Also, I loved the parallel to one of the first fight sequences in 300, with the side-on POV of the camera. In comparison, the prison scene isn't shot completely from that position, but there were enough of those shots for me to think of the similarities, if that makes sense. And Tyler Bates' score over it reinforced that :D I definitely think that's a Snyder trademark now!

I agree with you guys about that version of the song over the sex scene, it was uber-cheesy. I'd never heard the Cohen version before so I'm surprised by how cheesy it is, but I wish either they'd used another version, or a different song. Ah well, it's not enough to take away the enjoyment for me, though! Also Zack said all the songs he used for the soundtrack were sort of his playlist from his iPod when he was drawing storyboards for the film, so who can blame him? :D

I want to go see it again :lol:

Well if Fox gets its way, it might not make it according to the post, Fox wants to keep it from being release at all, makes no sense to me but who knows Fox has always been selfish SOB's :mad: But I do believe in the long run it will make it to theatres, that would be the most dumbest decision ever if it does not.

:lol: Sadia I know you were not aiming for me, I had the same reaction to the news, like what!!! I want to see this film, Fox is just being a pain in the ass as usual, they are selfish and greedy, always, trying to steal the glory from someone else :rolleyes:

I know, but we can't win 'em all, right? :pout: I'm just so happy that they've conceded enough and let the whole thing settle fairly, rather than keep the movie from distribution like they'd wanted to do before.

I feel the same, Nikki, I need - and want - to watch it again just so I can pay more attention to the details. It's a great movie
 
It turns out, a fair bit :lol: Now I know why it was rated 18 here, it's quite graphic with the violence, especially with how injuries are inflicted and the gore you see from them. And there's not an abundance of sex, just the main sort of scenes from the novel, but it's also revealing. And Dr. Manhattan spends a lot of time walking about naked, so that probably contributes towards the high ratings too!

Wow, I had no idea Watchmen was going to be a movie! I haven't read the graphic novel, though I've heard good things about it, so I think it's going to have to be bumped up my reading list.

And Zack Snyder is directing? Awesome! I loved 300, thought that was a great adaptation :D I'm excited!
 
I'm sure the extended version will be on DVD. :D

I can't wait for this, though.. SERIOUSLYYYYY.

Bad reviews? Dammit. It's going to be horrible if we find out that most critics hate it because the people behind the movie deserves better after the hell they've been through.
