Watchman Direc Cut on PAL PS3?

To be honest, while i loved the movie (theatrical cut) i don't really want to spend the silly amount of money that they are likely to charge for the 5 disc version, so the regular DC will be good enough for me.

Besides, while 'Tales of the Black Freighter' works as a comic within a comic i can see it hurting the flow of the story in movie form.

The UK often miss out on Bluray releases.
The Watchmen DC is 25 minutes longer .

There are other releases where the UK gets a substandard one compared to the US but as 75% of US discs are region free its not as imperative to be multiregion for Bluray as it was for dvd - although I am just to cover all the bases

The US release is longer because it is the Director's Cut, while the UK release is only the Theatrical Cut.

Various scenes are extended, plus there is at least one notable scene which is totally new (the death of Hollis Mason)

Also, as Blu-ray Discs are in 1080p, I think that the speed is the same whether in the US or UK, as the whole NTSC vs. PAL thing does not apply.[but even if the 4% difference did apply, it would still be a rather minor factor, given that the difference in run time is due to the different cuts of the movie).

I found it just as the poster above you managed to aswell

Not on Bluray they dont.

The running times are exactly the same as there is no PAL/NTSC difference on Bluray.

Thats how Warner can use the same discs worldwide and just change the labelling.

Who relies on running times on boxes anyway?

But I was not really referring to censor cuts anyway - it was mainly superior versions in the US like the Planet of the Apes boxset and titles unavailable in the UK completely like Licence to Kill, Man with the Golden Gun,Never say Never Again,In the realm of the senses,Towering Inferno and quite a few more

Playusa list all US Blurays and dvd's as US only just to cover themselves .

Buyers should note that Playusa source all their discs from Canada and it has been seen in the past where a US release on Bluray has been region free but the Canadian one turns out to be region locked so beware.

Playusa also have yet to make any mention of Bluray region coding (A,B&C) on their site and still refer to Blurays under the dvd coding

Movietyme supply US product and buyers have been caught out by then getting Canadian versions from Play USA only to find them region coded.

Best bet is to get a multiregion player then you can preorder without worrying about the coding situation

Watched my US copy of the Director's Cut on Saturday. Fabulous PQ and sound. And it's a great film too! Bonus! ;-)

I didn't see the original version, so I can't comment on what's new.

I watched it the other day too, very happy with my purchase! Since it was way back in March when i saw the theatrical cut i can only really pick out the Night Owl I/Hollis Mason stuff that has been added, which in my opinion should have been part of the theatrical cut in the first place as it adRAB depth to Night Owl II/Dan's character. The rest of the 24 minutes was probably just extended/alternate takes, but the movie definitely seemed to flow better in its DC form.
