as good as fedex/ups is i dont know if they could deliver mail to every single person in the country efficiently, i just dont know if its possible for any entity to do that.
 
I hate this argument. ANWR is not some magical land with infinite oil and even if we stripped that shit clean it would still only provide a small percentage of the US energy needs for a short time. So you bet your ass oil companies would still be deep sea drilling.
 
Damn right, they should have been paying 90% tax on their income before they died, that way they wouldn't have too much left for the government to want, when they died.

I think Bill Maher is at his best when he remains on the side of comedy but dabbles in the politics instead of the other way around it seems. 10 years ago he made fun of PETA but now he endorses it. WTF. Peta is a joke.
 
if we drastically reduced the size of gov, you could charge everyone an even rate of tax percentage and it wouldnt be so bad, but that shit will never ever happen
 
And that's the question. The USPS runs at a loss because they're mandated to do a service that is not supported by the market.

Sometimes that's not a bad thing, but now days it might be because the service is kind of pointless.

Bill Maher likes to call himself a libertarian, then wonders why there arent more government programs

Only thing I agree with him on is ending the war on drugs
 
The only reason he rags on Obama is because Obama is not left enough for him. He wants extreme environmental standards put in place that would hamper most Americans. He believes in a lot of junk science yet mocks those who believe equally laughable religious tomes.
 
that or just eliminate tons of goverment positions/entities that are pointless or redundant
 
I don't have HBO, nor can I stand any type of talk show or radio talk shows other than the local "yuk yuk" guys in the morning discussing sports and TV shows.
