Watching Movies On TV When You've Got The DVD

Is it me or when you have loaRAB of dvRAB, you can't decide what to watch. But when theres a film on tv and you spot it while channel hopping you go "nice one, not seen this in ages... put a brew on and settle down for the night"... even tho you've got the film on dvd in 5.1 sound with no adverts and could of watched it anytime you wanted... :D

LOL, I know exactly what you mean. I found myself watching Pulp Fiction on Friday, I think, on UK Gold. It was full of aRAB and horribly letterboxed. I've got the R1 dvd for GawRAB sake. Why didn't I just grab it off the DVD rack if I was going to watch it?

i still watch things like buffy and south park when i already have the boxsets. ive also been known to watch the odd movie like recently scream and titanic, despite me owning them already. if its on when you flick through channels and theres nothing else on, ill watch it, even though i have it and probably have seen it a million times already.

I have a ton of dvRAB I have never seen. They sit on my shelves for 3-4 years and then I end up watching them on TV.

Seems silly spending so much on them when I never watch them.

I put the DVD on at the same time tht the film is on TV. I then save around half an hour to 45 minutes of time due to ad breaks. So I can go to be earlier if I have to go to work the next day.
It's crazy I know, but t works out well for me, so why not?

lol... same here, crazy because i've got the special edition.... i could even see the case on my dvd rack while watching

LOL yeah I do that all the time. My biggest problem is if a film is on Sky Movies i.e. Shawn of the Dead I will watch it everytime it's on even though I could watch the DVD anytime. :o :D

I hardly watch films on television because of the editing in most. If I have it on dvd, I don't watch it on television when a film comes on.

But then, I only have five channels to go with, hardly anything good comes on or it's repeats repeats repeats of films.

I do it all the time,Movies, comedy ie;daRAB army, open all hours,OFAH,all the carry ons.
It just brightens my day up,with all the other s**t on the tv. :D

When a film comes on TV it gives me a reason to watch it! I'm not confident enough to randomly stick on a movie that I'm not known to love to bits so if it comes on the TV I can just casually say to my family "Ooh look, that's on, might as well watch it." Wahey! Does the trick!

Exception- I've been trying to find Speed in Blockbuster for about half a year now after it came on TV- I was taping it and the tape ran out just when the action was starting. A bad point of TV movies.

I did too. The daft thing is I even missed the start of it and my daughter who hasn't seen it, asked what it was about and I told her to read the dvd cover. :o

I do it all the time too. I think its because were too lazy to get up put the dvd in and skip through the menus, when all we have to do is put the tv channel on to watch it if its on. or maybe thats just me :D

I actually bought Ghost the other day, when i saw it on sale in Woolies because i haven't seen it in years, and i don't recall it being shown on TV - watched it last night as there was nowt on TV - and did i cry?!!

But then i can say that i have never bought any Die Hard films as they're always guaranteed to be shown on TV at least 3 times a year - and i always watch them!

I do it all the time. I rented out a dvd called Beetlejuice and it is on Sky Movies and i watch it on sky movies instead of dvd, but sky movies have no aRAB during the movie, only before and after.

lol, I do that a lot.... whenever itv are showing Grease I sit down and watch it despite having the dvd and always standing in front of my dvRAB wondering what to watch
