Watching cartoons online (legally) vs. TV

Pros: There are titles available for viewing that can't be seen on TV.

Cons: It's not as relaxing as watching TV giving the connection speed factor.

I absolutely love that they're letting us stream shows legally now (especially anime since a lot of the best ones aren't on TV.)

I do like watching things on TV, though. I like being able to look forward to it being on TV at a certain time, and being able to relax on my bed while watching it.

But since there isn't much good on TV anymore, streaming things online is my only option for what I want to watch most of the time. (outside of Futurama, really.)

I honestly prefer watching cartoons on TV and DVDs over watching them legally through my computer. There are benefits to legally streaming of shows of course. I can watch those shows whenever I want to, some of the shows that are legally uploaded are from channels I don't get, such as with Wolverine and the X-Men, and seeing the first few episodes could help me decide if I would want to buy the DVDs. That was the case with a couple of anime series for me.

Despite all of those benefits, I still prefer watching cartoons on TV, either through a channel's schedule or through my DVDs. I find watching TV much more relaxing than watching my computer screen. Besides that, there are times where my Internet connection is slow, which makes trying to watch a series pretty difficult when the computer has to load up again every two minutes.

I like streaming because it means I don't have to get cable to watch, say, TDA, but I won't argue that it's just as good as watching it on TV or DVD because it's not. The picture quality tends to be lower and you have to worry about the speed of your connection and other things that you don't with TV.

It's getting better, though. One day I hope it will be an even better option than waiting around for the show to come on TV.

I actually watch my streaming stuff on my TV sometimes by attaching my laptop to it. I've even thought about getting a PC primarily for that purpose.

Computer is usually a last resort or above all laziness. But TV is certainly better. It gets irritating to sit in front of a computer screen instead of lay on the couch with your family to watch a show.

Nothing wrong with a bit of both though, I think.

Since I have an awesome Internet Connection, I love it, and I can't wait for the death of the cable box. I'm still trying to figure out a way to pipe streaming to my TV though...

To me it depends on the show, the time, and how and where I can view it. If I missed a show because I was doing something else, it's on way too early, I can watch it online so that way, I don't worry about catching a rerun of it. Also, since my cable can act quite weird from time to time, like stall in a certain area get digitally blocked up and some other issue, I don't mind Online issues that much. My only complaint with online is just video quality on some video players, like CN Video when I Fullscreen it

I haven't turn on my TV in well over a year, unless it was to play my 360. I can watch all the shows I watch online, which I find easier and more convenient.

Considering the scarcity of anime on TV these days, streaming video sites are a blessing. I've already seen xxxHOLiC and Kiddy Grade on FUNi's video portal, and I've recently started a third series.

I find it's easier if you set up a certain time to watch something online and then just stick to it. Ironically, it sounds more like how TV works, but at least you won't drop off in the middle of a series.

It has it's advantages, catching episodes you might have missed of shows you love for instance. And yes it's pretty much the only other legal option for anime these days besides DVDs something not everyone can aford.

I prefer to watch cartoons on the television as opposed to online, but on the rare occassion I need to watch a show online I can hook my laptop to my television with a hdmi cable and enjoy my cartoons that way with only a little bit of quality loss, which I don't mind.

I have to say that I prefer watching shows online. On a laptop, you can watch a show wherever and whenever you feel like it; you don't have to wait for it to air on TV. You can also pause, rewind, etc, which you can't do on a TV without Tivo or a similar service. My laptop also has sharper color than either of the TVs in my house, with a much crisper picture to boot. Overall, legal streaming wins.

It doesn't really matter to me, but I do most of my watching on-line because everyone is my family is usually using the TV and I am sure that no one in my house wants to watch Mighty B! or Flapjack.

I prefer to watch shows on DVD on my TV, but I have been watching shows online more and more over the past year or so.

Generally speaking, if its on DVD, I'd rather pop in a DVD. But if it comes to watching TV with commercials at a certain time or seeing it online at any time you want, I'd probably watch it online.
