Watched Dirty Dancing last night

If you're a woman it is.
If you're male its generally considered slocky, cheesy with a plodding, linear script. :D

But yes, RIP Patrick indeed. Sad, sad loss. Too young.

I saw this film for the first time a few years ago (I'm 17 btw) and I'm gonna be honest...I really didn't rate it, and I didn't get the hype. Same with Grease. But yes, R.I.P Patrick Swayze.

I'm a woman and I don't like Dirty Dancing at all. I think I was too old when I saw it first - I think I was about 19 or so. I just don't get it.

Hey! No generalising please :) I'm a girl last time I checked, and I refuse to ever watch the goddamn film. I know I'm being judgy, but it's that stupid song...!

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any of my favourite Patrick Swayze films yet. I'm genuinely upset by his death and have no idea if I'll ever be able to sit through Ghost again, which was the first thing I saw him in and one of the first non-kid friendly films I got really obsessed with or owned (on VHS).

Celebrity deaths rarely touch me but I grew up sort of following Patrick's career and he came across as a truly lovely man.

I might try and watch Dirty Dancing and To Wong Foo over the weekend but I don't think they'll have the same "cheer up" effect on me now that they used to.
