Set to run at 22 episodes, The Daughter of Twenty Faces (Nijuu Mensou no Musume) currently has 13 episodes out.

This is probably the best series that seemingly no one is watching. So if you're one of the cool kiRAB who is watching the series, post your comments.

I only sturabled on it because Hirano Aya voiced it, but it's seriously her best work yet. The story is excellent, and the tone from innocent to intent/pwnage is amazing in its own way.

Thanks to you I got into this series. From episodes 1 to 5 it was an entertaining heist tale that involved lots of growth with the main character and her cohorts. Episode 6 onwarRAB is a roller coaster thrill ride with wonderful twists, new characters, developments, and everything that makes me want even more so I can unravel the mysteries that clouRAB itself with.

As with Juu, PHW also got me into this series.

And I must say that this is nothing short of fantastic. I constantly find myself involved with the story, wondering, "Wow, how is he going to pull it off?"

Not to mention Chiko is probably one of the most innocent characters ever, and yet at the same time so freaking clever.

The story is definately also doing a great job at keeping a steady pace, it certainly has its fill of twists.

And...

I can honestly say that when Chiko was pushed onto the other train it was the first time in quite some time that I was emotionally involved with an Anime moment that much, seeing the Boss light up in flames was tragic...

I want more. Now.

In fact the same can be said of all the leading lady protagonists in the series.

Although Tome in 1920s swimwear is rather... yummy. =3

I started this series around the time episode 9 was just airing, I think. It really took me by surprise just how much I liked it, I'm not usually an Aya fan, but I love her work here. Gotta say though, I hated Chiko for most of the first episode until that twist was revealed. (I knew absolutely nothing about the series at the start) Yay for unappreciated anime.

I've made it through three episodes. This show is a lot of fun, more than a lot of stuff I started this year. Chiko's just likable. At first you're wondering what the deal is with this brat in the first episode...and then you find out the truth. She figured out so much just from reading detective books. Also, Twenty Faces' first heist in the series was crazy. Lifting the roof off of the house? It's like an anime version of Carmen Sandiego (did I just date myself?)

Twenty Faces, by necessity, is a classy guy, which makes the entire situation palatable. Chiko pulls her weight but definitely isn't being exploited, and she's definitely meant as a classic young protagonist that's taken from a mundane and even harmful life into one of adventure. Her admiration of Twenty Faces is just that, and a sentiment held by all of his men. I'm already seeing some dimension in Twenty Faces' motivations. Aside from being a standard well-intentioned thief that cares more about putting treasures where they belong than their actual monetary value, I find it interesting that he also seems to be going out of his way to destroy relics of this past war. The super tank, the sunken ship...is this some form of atonement? Some self-assigned mission to clean up messes the world's forgotten about? There's more to him than meets the eye, I think.

If there were any criticism it's that episodes 2 and 3 follow a somewhat familiar pattern--Twenty Faces' group recovers some treasure, nearly get betrayed by supposed allies, but then manage to get out of it through cunning. However I see there's apparently a shift at episode 6, so I'll be waiting for that. And it's entertaining, so it's all good. Also, I loved Chiko's little moment toward the end of 3...the smile she gets on her face when she backs up Twenty Faces' bluff was delicious. At least I assume it was a bluff, but either way it's awesome.

In sum, this absolutely must be licensed.

After being hounded for days about watching this series, I finally sat down and have been since...well, early this morning. Needless to say I can't stop XD What an absolutly wonderful, thrilling anime. I love Chiko, I love Twenty Faces.[have I mentioned how hanRABome I think he is? ;P] *thurabs up*
This is one of those 'must see' type of shows.

Episode 6 has left me in complete and utter shock. But now that I'm on 12, I'm completely enthralled by this show. I thought that after what happened on the train, I would no longer watch, but it's so hard to turn away for even a moment.

Made it through episode 13...a question to those that have made it this far.

Really, does ANYONE think Twenty Faces is really gone, the ending notwithstanding? Fool me once...

The narrative is pretty interesting, I like how Twenty Faces and his life drives the story even when he's not in it. Though, I'm stunned at how much the Aunt is getting away with so far. I like that Chiko is progressing in spite of basically going through hell. Lots of people would be a complete wreck...though I feel that Akechi really saved her at first.

I was freaked out and very worried when she was back to the house and ate the poisoned food without any resistance. Akechi's appearance reinforced and strengthened what hope she had, I think.

With the second big arc apparently over, it'll be interesting to see where the series goes from here...

Not a chance, especially considering
it seems like it would be easier to survive a fall like that rather than an exploding train car.
From what I've read, the first "half" of the series was supposed to be based on the manga while the second half (I'm guessing wherever we go from here) is supposed to be original Detective Girls stories and such. So we'll see how it goes.

Detective Girls? I already know I'm going to be missing 20 Faces...I just hope that Ken decides to stick around. I'm not a really big Shunka fan [assuming the Detective Girls involve mostly her and Chiko], although the beach episode made me come to like her a little bit more.

Seriously? But there's so much of the 20 faces story that's unresolved. =(

Well I've got my own personal theory...

I am guessing that like the white haired lady, 20 faces has been...changed somehow to be a weapon (probably the source of his motivation to destroy the remaining weapons from the war). I assume one of his "powers" is invulnerability, or close to it, considering the sticky situations he gets out of perfectly fine, and his disregard for being injured during the recent incident.

My guess is (at least some of) the Detective Girls stories will relate to Twenty Faces, like when Chiko and Koito went to the theater to check out that one guy and such. There's no way Chiko is going to let things go after their meeting and all the things she's finding out relating to his "legacy". I can see the Detective Girls going in search of more information about him.

Episode 14 is out.
I did a doubletake at Ken saying this was the 5th time Twenty Faces has "died." He has a definite flair for the dramatic.

I adored the scene where Chiko grabbed onto Ken saying that she was afraid that if she let go, he would run off so her told her not to let go so he wouldn't. His blush was adorable right there.

Guess I shouldn't be too surprised that the passengers weren't actually dead. Though it seems pointless for the white-haired woman to only knock them out when she intended for the blimp to crash anyway.

Oh, and go Tome! That was excellent the way she stood up to the aunt.

And the fourth stage of water? This could be interesting.
This is a series I just can't get enough of. Can't wait for the next episode.

lol "this is the 5th time". I was like waitwtf? Twenty Faces is like the Houdini of anime.
While I don't like Ken following with a disappearing act of his own, I doubt it'll be long before he pops his pretty little head back in ^_^.

I really like Akechi, but I'm lost as to what he's up to. Why was he even chasing the blimp in the first place other than to follow Chiko? What got him so interested in Twenty Faces? And can SOMEBODY please tell the tabloiRAB that the man is NOT a sexual predator? Come on Chiko, at least be like "no 20faces didn't rape me or throw me to his men."
