Neon Tetras are fantastic fish because they are peaceful schooling fish. They are small and quick so they even go well in tanks with more aggressive fish like bettas. Goldfish may be harmful to the tetras if kept in a smaller environment like a 10g because goldfish produce lots of ammonia which can be harmful to other fish without frequent water changes and ammonia neutralizing tablets. Other than that, if you have a larger tank, anything tropical is fun. I have 3 neon tetras in a 10g with 3 guppies and a beta and because they have plenty of room and are fast they all get along great. Plus with the live plants and the beautiful colors the tank looks fantastic. Try it!
