wat can i do to make my 2007 honda civic ex auto catch up to my friends 2008

Good news, your civic does have an SOHC VTEC, bad news, there's not a lot you can do to your car to get it up to speed with an 08 SI. The first and biggest problem is that you have an automatic transmission which makes it impossible to make use of any performance upgrades you install. Your transmission probably wont let you redline the car. The other problem you have is that your friend has an SI model with almost 200 BHP. These two issues will probably hold you back from keeping up with your friend. Sorry mate!
 
There's really not much you can do, your biggest mistake is trying to outrun a manual with an automatic. The 2007 EX model should have the i-VTEC version I believe or whatever Honda calls it these days.

to see if its vtec you could check your engine code and go from there(google engine code on your car) and if his car stays stock you can slap on a intake and turbo but with a auto. you hav to worry about your tanny over heating and alot of stuff basically by the time you do all this to keep up with it and smoke it he will do stuff and he wil beat you sorry
