if you ask a friend or someone you know that "Where do you go to school?" and he said "I go to Washington University in St. Louis," what would be your impression towards him?

I'd totally be impressed. Theu.com dubbed Wash U as the "Harvard of the Midwest". Wash U is ranked 12 nationally and can easily be an Ivy League. Their Olin School of Business is one of the best business schools in the country and their pre-med program is stellar.
So to answer your question, my first impression would be "WOW".
