Here is the link to the story. It's a real joke what these guys will write.

We want choices of hardware and prices.....O not that many choices...slow your role we can only eat so much, this happens all of the time in technology haha, i know ppl still whinning about jumping on to the iphone 1st gen

This article is nothing but Appleple trying to make iphone bigger than it is by downgrading anything else that is worth a look, use, and on the end dumping the Apple iPhone.

Paraphrasing the article here
"Don't confuse us with choices! We only need one phone, there should be no other than the iPhone."
Honestly, if the Desire comes out with equal specs to the Nexus, I'm going to be a bit disappointed, since I have no plans on leaving T-Mobile, I'd rather pay $199 for it with my current contract than a $550 unlocked phone, but that's the thing about technology, next month there will always be something better.

The article is kind of right, but the Apple bias is just so blatant. I have a G1 and recently bought myself a Nexus, but with the new phones that are coming out soon I kind of feel outdated already. However this is Android and we should get the sense UI from the Desire, got to love open source!

The 4th gen Iphone is poking it's head around.
Apple managed to have the best touch screen since what 05? 07?
Best apps available

Where as Android
Has the deepest customization
And background apps running.

It's an honest to god Dead Lock IMO.

Tat home looks so amazing but the hard reality of it is for me is that regardless I won't be navigating to any good apps or anything as fun or useful as the Iphone.

Where as if I had an Iphone I'd be so sick of looking at the same UI everyday and having to open every app I wanna check.

When I change my background even it feels like a good new phone, let alone changing my default home app.
But it can't keep on this way.

Apples gonna add what Android has on it soon and it will make or break the device.
And Android is going to be scattered and have terrible apps cause there's so many varieties for a good while unfortunately

Hmmm I read it and it's not Phone bias, just a comparison about release tactics and the fact that Android is proliferating and pissing people off because they (one assumes) always want the best version of whatever. And... it's true. I'm going back to watching the Olympics...

Spot on.

Apple are industry-experts at cultivating media excitement, there's no denying it.

And Android is a victim of its own success and its openness. I've been looking at the latest models coming out and I can't help but feel that it's not worth spending decent money on something that will be outdated that quickly...

But then, like others have said, competition is good and can only benefit the customer... double-edged sword...

i honestly see android becoming a big nightmare for developers in the very near future with all the different phones coming out. they either have to make sure that their apps works on all phones (which by the way things are going now could be 20-30 phones with different specs by years end) or risk losing money by only having them work on a few phones. not to mention the upkeep of them if certain phones get updates and others dont, it could really turn into a **** storm is some sort of order doesn't come around

Somehow there are way more than 20-30 models of personal computer running, let's say, Windows XP, and thousands of programs that work on them =D Eventually people will figure it out.

exactly what im saying

im not a developer but judging by how many times an app gets updated in a week because of stuff like this then i would say its already a problem

This whole thing is somewhat overblown. The tech advances in mobiles are coming at a blinding rate. When you have an open OS like Android, you're going to see a LOT of devices come out with different capabilities. Couple that with the development speed on Android itself, and we have even more. This is nothing strange, really. The PC world went through the same thing with no problems.

The only real problem is the irrational expectation that a phone will be able to run the latest and greatest apps and OSs. I bought a Droid on day one and I expected something to come out within a month or two that would put ot to shame. That's the way things work when you're dealing with tech in this stage.

As for development, any decent developer expects (or should anyway) to have to deal with multiple platforms and capabilities. For example, I still have to support IE6 in web apps for crying out loud...
