Was your fist night in military boot camp similar to mine?

The fist night when lights went out, recruits did not go right to sleep. When lights went out most were talking & making noise & joking around for about an hour & a half before it became quiet.

Some of us became angry & started scrteaming "SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!!"

And everybody else started laughing at whoever got mad. You only get about 4 to 6 hours of sleep in the first few days but recruits stay up for about an hour just talking & making noise at taps.

Did you experience that?
Or did everybody inyour division/platoon go strait to sleep? And what branch were/are you in?

wow you slept? I remember getting there late at night. When we finally got our racks we were there for about 30 minutes trying to sleep before the lights came back on and a trash can got thrown down the center isle with the RDC screaming. That's when I knew I was no longer home.

My first night was identical to that! LOL!! And I was usually one of the guys laughing at people! But I am currently in Army National Guard and also in ROTC as of right now.
