Hi all,

at physical therapy yesterday they laid me facedown on a chiropractic-type table, strapped my ankles down, and manually cranked this thing until my back felt all stretched out. Then they rotated my legs back and forth from left to right while keeping one hand on my L4-L5 facet joints (they have degeneration).

I've been trying to figure out what this is called, but my searches for spinal decompression are yeilding far fancier equipment.

Can anyone tell me what this was called that they did to me? It was kind of painful when they were doing it, but my hip didn't bother me all night for the first time in close to a year, so perhaps a nerve was untrapped?

Thanks!

Hm, so far I've had no luck finding any images or descriptions of lurabar traction that sound like the table/procedure I am referring to. In fact, it's hard to say whether it seems MORE like traction or decompression!

I'll ask them this morning what exactly this thing is called and what it does.

Thanks again! :)
