Was this right for this middleschool boy in my neighborhood to try to do to me?

[Life stinks:(]

I'm 14 and in middleschool i am homeschooled at home but this boy that gos to a real middleschool tried to shoot me with his BB gun so he didn't get me i ran and i gave him the L for loser sign because i think he deserved it for trying to shoot me with his stupid gun! what should i do if this happens again?
